Sticking on a theme of a kind - it is national recycling week in the UK, and I've tagged you over at mine for an environmental challenge.

We drink recycled water, but if at all possible, I try not to pay too much attention to that, because I have a large imagination and can envision the whole process from the very start. Our water tastes fine, but lots of bottled water gets sold in the supermarket that's spring water and supposedly very healthy. I don't buy it myself for reason of the enormous waste of transporting it around and recycling all those bottles. I use water from the faucet for everything, like making coffee and tea and lemonade. The coffee and tea taste fine and I'm sure there's no harm in drinking it.

You know, nowadays in Europe, you see a lot of excess as well. Not as bad as in the States, but we're also a consumer society.

I vaguely remember from school someone telling me (I hope it was a teacher as I now report it as a gospel fact) that the water in the Thames has been through the whole process 7 times by the time it reaches the sea...

Lovely post, made me smile. America really is the land of extremes sometimes!

i was a plastic waterbottlebaby for awhile then switched to the brita filtered container. my water comes right down from the mountain (same source as arrowhead) but they fill it with so much junk as to make it unpalatable! the filter works great, improving the taste enough for this water "snob."
