I was at a podcasting conference in Ontario, California and, being lunch time, I wanted a sandwich. Not too tricky so far eh? I took me 5 minutes to queue up (sorry, get in line) and 10 minutes to get them to understand precisely WHICH sandwich I wanted. I was still struggling when the guy behind me translated to the folks behind the counter... Why is it the English can understand American but Americans struggle to understand English?
