The Gallery: Outside my front door

by Lorna Harris on March 30, 2010

Outside my front door, well two blocks from our house, is this:

No, I can’t quite believe it either.

I pinch myself most days in disbelief that we can be quite so lucky.  At the moment, the peninsula is covered in Spring Break tourists, college students determined to enjoy their holidays.  In a couple of weeks time, it will be quiet again before the summer tourists arrive.

And we’re headed to the UK for Easter, where it’s raining.  We must be mad.  We could spend the week on the beach.  It never, ever gets boring.

It’s been snowing in the UK today – you must, indeed, be mad!

Jealous? Moi? T’yeah! I am imagining your sunny beach as I sit here in the freeeeezing UK rain!

What a fab photo. Coming to your blog for the first time by way of Tara’s Gallery. So nice to find another ex-pat blogger living here. Do you feel as guilty as I do about seeing the sun when friends and family back home are shoveling snow again?

Now that is California!

I expect a red swimsuit clad “CJ” (aka pam anderson circa 1986) to come bouncing down the sand at any second!

Our beaches up her are a bit colder and “cliffier”, I love coming down South to get a taste of the beach life!

Nice view!

It’s another world isn’t it? I do wonder why I feel so tied to here sometimes….

JulieB March 31, 2010 at 8:50 am

Please send some of that lovely southern Californian sunshine this way! Beautiful.

Lovely pics, can’t believe what beautiful places everybody has in their photos this week – aren’t we all lucky to live in such gorgeous locations? x

@Kath@Parklover @Tara Please don’t tell me that!

@IfICouldEscape Nice to meet you too – am heading over to yours now!

@Geekymummy I should have added a shot of me running in slow motion along the beach in my red swimming costume.

Oh my, that’s stunning.

Easter in England! It has been snowing here this afternoon!

Will you be in my neck of the woods?

Bonkers – have you not seen the weather report for the UK? We are being punished for believing that spring is nigh and getting our pale (blue-ish) legs out too soon. Pah!

Am heading for warmer climes myself, so will chuck a chicken from the plane window when we cross paths somewhere over the Atlantic to notify you of my whereabouts….

@VinoGirl :)

@MrsW Yes, looking at all the other entries really made me feel, I’m not at home any more.

@JulieB I wish I could. The UK has had such a tough winter this year.

@Mwa. Yes, just two. TWO!

Lorna Harris March 31, 2010 at 9:52 pm
