As part of The Gallery this week, Tara encouraged everyone to take a photo on Sunday, 29th August in the style of Blipping. Blipping is taking a photo record every day and I really like that idea. I signed up for the service at the weekend but decided to start on Wednesday as it is the first day of the month. I’m at BlipFoto – you’ll find me there as Calif Lorna. I’m not sure I’ll remember to do it every day but I’d like to try my best.
So, here’s the photo, taken after a BMX session at the skatepark. The boys all jumped on one bike to ride it back to the car, luckily there are pegs on all wheels, making jumping on for a ride a bit easier. Whoops, no helmets. Think I’ll have to let that one slide.
Tara asked that we mark this day for Josie, Sian and Eva, UK parenting bloggers who are in Bangladesh this week. They’re raising awareness of the work Save the Children is doing with mothers and children in one of the most poverty-stricken places on the planet. I hope you can visit their sites this week and support their efforts.
This makes my photo even more poignant for me. My boys are strong, healthy and have the luxury of a Sunday morning at the skatepark. I’m going to take some time today and look through the posts with them, I’d like them to understand that not everyone is as fortunate as they are.
As Sian says:
We want to get 100,000 signatures on our Press for Change petition, but that is where we really need your help. You can sign on the Facebook app or at the Save the Children site. Mention it to your friends, your colleagues, your family. Every signature makes a difference.
So please, go over and sign.

What a fun photograph. Still trying to get my head around blipping here!
I’m obviously a fan of going to any kind of park on a weekend! My daughter is only 3 and loves whizzing around on a balance bike, I bet it won’t be long before she wants to have a go on some ramps. SHe’s a bit of a daredevil!
great picture! All the boys having fun
